PHI 3065 - Philosophy of Film and Television [LGWL2] This course examines a variety of philosophical concerns related to film and television. Issues addressed include the social significance of film and television, the relation between fine art and popular entertainment, the differences between still and moving pictures, the differences between theatrical and home presentations, the construction of the illusion of reality, and the basis for our emotional interactions with characters.
Prerequisites & Notes The prerequisite is PHI 2030 or ENG 1052 or permission. This course is offered every even-numbered fall.
