PSY 5152 - Counseling II


This course is a continuation of Counseling Strategies for Teachers for individuals planning to enter the field of human services. Each student is expected to counsel two clients over the semester. Acase-study format is used to monitor the progress of the counseling relationships. Counseling theory, self-knowledge and introspection are emphasized. Special issues such as substance abuse, sexual abuse, gender, socioeconomic and ethnic issues are examined.

Prerequisites & Notes
The prerequisites are PSY 6070 or permission.
