SED 5670 - Introduction to Chaos


This course provides examples of chaotic systems, diodes, population growth, Lorentz model of convection, determinism and unpredictability, the pendulum as a chaotic system, trajectories in phase space, Poincaré sections, the logistic map and bifurcations, measure of chaos, Lyapunov exponents, dimension, and one experiment involving a choatic system.

Prerequisites & Notes
The prerequisites are MAT 1531 and SED 5580 or SED 5630. There is a lab fee.
