ATM 4030 - Synoptic Climate Science This course provides a climatological and statistical study of surface and upper-air synoptic features. The planetary circulation features revealed are examined and discussed to enhance understanding of circulation behavior, with subsequent application to medium range weather forecasting. The course includes analysis of teleconnections, atmospheric oscillations, creating synoptic climatological data, and forecasting applications to high impact weather events.
Prerequisites & Notes The prerequisite is ATM 2060. There is a lab fee. This course is offered every even-numbered fall.
